Michelle has worked in equine assisted services for 24 years and is active with PATH Intl as a previous committee chair and faculty of the Equine Services for Heroes Certificate course. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with her Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling, Clinical Rehabilitation Mental Health Counseling.
Michelle comes from a multigenerational military background, father was a Marine, husband USAF for 28 years, and son active duty USAF,. She has seen how war impacts self concepts, relationships and one's ability to connect.
Her treatments are tailored to the individual: moral injury /PTS intensives, weekly/biweekly EMDR and equine therapy, telehealth, and/or "tune-ups" when prior clients have stressors that affect functioning. "My goals for these veterans is to get them back in their lives, back into healthy relationships. PTS and moral injury cause isolation from suppressing negative experiences. These confidential treatments can open the door to positive emotions and connection again."
